10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week

7. Goldberg's Favourite Wrestler Was Bruiser Brody

A lot of wrestling fans are under the impression that Bill Goldberg was never a pro wrestling enthusiast himself. In stark contrast to that popular theory, the future WCW World Champion used to watch wrestling at his grandmother's house occasionally as a child. He would later fall into the clutches of WCW, spotted by Lex Luger and Sting whilst working out. Long before he was even an American Football star however, Goldberg would watch names like 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair on TV. According to the man himself, there was one performer who stood out above all the rest. That was Bruiser Brody, a fearsome looking giant who favoured a heavy brawling style. For young Bill Goldberg, it was spectacular, and he greatly enjoyed watching Brody work. During his own career, Goldberg was treated like almost an outsider. It's easy to find comments from the likes of Kevin Nash or Bret Hart about the guy never being the biggest wrestling fan, but the truth is he did watch as a child. Granted, Goldberg wasn't a wrestling superfan by any stretch of the imagination, but it's fascinating to imagine that Bruiser Brody captured his attention from a young age.
