Mae Young was a rare breed.

As tough as they come, the bat-sh*t old broad with the winning smile and willingness to get involved physically scared the crap out of poor Kurt Angle before the pair worked together on Raw in February 2000. In his prime and known for his own toughness, Kurt was stunned when Mae told him, "'spike my ass hard" and then walked away.

It wasn't until after this bizarre confrontation that Kurt learned he'd be giving Young his Angle Slam in the ring live on air. Immediately, he began to fret about possibly hurting a sweet old lady. Mae was having none of it, and she warned the burly wrestler not to take it easy on her.

This story, told by Angle during a Facebook Q&A, is similar to one Bubba-Ray Dudley tells about Mae taking his Powerbomb from the turnbuckle through a table. By comparison, Kurt's bump was safer, so he had nothing to worry about.
