1. 2K Used Base Models From 2001 In 2K20

Internet, here's reason #1,372 why to hate WWE 2K20 and ask for a refund from PlayStation.

In a damage limitation interview with Comic Book, Visual Concepts Creative Director Lynell Jinks revealed that VC and 2K used old assets left over from the THQ days to build 2K20's character models. More specifically, they recycled one of Chyna from 2001/2002, and built upon the skeletal foundations.

Read that again. One of the lead creative minds working on the game just admitted that his team used scans from almost 20 years ago to create a "new" model for Chyna in 2K20. That's...almost too honest to process for anyone appalled by some of the graphical flaws in 2K's latest Yuke's-less project.

2K and Visual Concepts use photogrammetry these days rather than the old scanning layout, and yet they somehow thought it'd be totally fine to dig up ancient THQ tech for use on PS4 and Xbox One in 2019. Maybe Mr. Jinks should avoid doing more of these interviews until the storm of fan unrest blows over.
