Anyone watching the 'Mania 35 pre-show would be forgiven for having a sly chuckle at Pat McAfee's outfit. Nice shorts, bro.

On his radio show after the fact, McAfee shared a story about being roasted backstage for his choice of clobber. No, it wasn't Vince McMahon that tore poor Pat a new one, it was Michael Cole. The senior announcer was far from happy that McAfee had rocked up to the biggest show of the year looking like he was 10 years old and about to go on a field trip with his classmates.

Cole verbally berated Pat in front of everyone backstage, and McAfee was so embarrassed he almost walked out on the gig. In the end, he decided not to let MC's outrage get him down, and he asked another staff member if Vince would indeed have a problem with his pins being on show. This is where things get even better.

According to Pat, McMahon told staff that he was "hip", so he understood why the analyst wanted to wear "suit shorts". This came after someone noted that NBA star Lebron James was partial to a little jacket and shorts combo.
