10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (April 17)

1. Shawn Michaels Turned Down WWE Creative Gig

There can be little doubt that Shawn Michaels was one of the greatest performers to ever grace the pro wrestling ring. As smooth as they come, HBK's body of work is the envy of countless others, from incredible WrestleMania main events to an incendiary number of great matches as a tag-team wrestler. Since retiring from the squared circle in 2010, Michaels has been asked the same question time and time again, when will he don the infamous tights once more and wrestle again? To his credit, Shawn hasn't really teased this all that often, the closest he came to getting people excited was during several in-ring confrontations with his protege Daniel Bryan on Monday Night Raw. Interestingly, when asked the question once more over the past week, Michaels told a story about how WWE wanted him to become part of the creative team. Being on the road full-time isn't something which appeals to the Hall Of Famer, so he turned it down, but did say he'd be open to fulfilling the role Pat Patterson works in now, namely chipping in with ideas from the comfort of his own home, only hitting the road occasionally.
