10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (April 21)
2. Roode's 'Glorious' Theme Was Originally Written For Nakamura
Previously, online rumours had been rife that Bobby Roode's well-received 'Glorious' entrance music wasn't created for him originally. During his own interviews, the current NXT Champion has claimed he didn't know what to make of the tune at first, but that it was Triple H who convinced him to embrace it.
Now, The Wrestling Observer have revealed that 'Glorious' was actually intended for none other than Shinsuke Nakamura.
Feeling the song didn't fit in with the character he wanted to present on WWE television, the Japanese star turned it down and became very hands on with his eventual 'Rising Sun' theme song. Few can argue with Nakamura's logic, because his entrance music is now such a huge part of his act.
Similarly, Bobby Roode has come to suit 'Glorious' perfectly, and it instantly made him look like a bigger star upon his arrival in NXT. Things could have been very different had Shinsuke elected to make the best of what he considered a bad situation.
