Anyone who grew up in the late-1980s or early-90s will remember Vince McMahon's over-the-top, throaty growl as he hyped upcoming pay-per-view events. "It's The Ultimate Challenge. It's WrestleManiaaaaaa", Vince bellowed, and that was after comparing Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior to stars in the cosmos.

According to comments made by Bruce Prichard on his 'Something Else To Wrestle With' WWE Network show, McMahon doing voiceovers wasn't necessarily the boss's call.

It was actually Bruce who suggested that Vince spit all over the microphone's pop shield and get fans pumped up for what they were about to see. Prichard thought McMahon's voice for perfect for the role, wanted an excuse to get him on the show anyway and didn't think there'd be anyone better than the man steering the ship to big up his own events.

He had a point, and Vince was superb in the role despite his hyperbolic delivery.
