Whether you loved or hated the "Custody of Dominic" storyline WWE ran in 2005 between Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero, it was notable for allowing Eddie to return to his heel roots; as a heel, few could match Guerrero's nasty side and attention to detail. He was willing to go further than most to draw heat.

Proof of that came from Bruce Prichard on 'Something Else To Wrestle With'.

Shortly after turning heel, Eddie approached the company and asked them to stop selling his popular merchandise at live events or online via WWE Shop. Guerrero didn't think a proper villain would like to see fans wearing his t-shirts, so he made a concerted effort to have them pulled from the merch stands.

WWE weren't happy to oblige at first. They said they'd be throwing potential revenue down the drain, and told Eddie he was one of their biggest sellers. Guerrero didn't bat an eyelid, instead repeating that heels didn't sell merchandise or pander to fans.
