10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (April 3)

2. Kevin Nash Angers WWE During Hall Of Fame

It makes sense that WWE would want Kevin Nash to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame as 'Diesel', but it didn't really appeal to the big man himself, who pushed to be honoured under his real name instead. This didn't sit well with the company, who were further perplexed when Nash started talking about guaranteed contracts during his speech, taking credit for changing the business somewhat in favour of the talent. It seems that this had Vince McMahon miffed backstage, feeling that it was unnecessary to bring this kind of thing up. Supposedly, McMahon feels Nash's guaranteed big-money deal with WCW put him under pressure in the mid-90's to offer previously unheard of deals to the likes of Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, nearly putting the then-WWF out of business as a result. By talking about such a thing when being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame, the feeling was that Nash was slapping Vince in the face a little, souring the mood on what was supposed to be a happy event.
