The most well-known story about Zach Gowan's run in WWE is that poor John Laurinaitis initially took it upon himself to hire the wrong one-legged wrestler. Other than that, not much is known about Gowan's 2003 stint as a Brock Lesnar whipping boy and unlikely Hulk Hogan ally.

Some fans will recall seeing Lesnar push a wheelchair-bound Zach down a flight of stairs on SmackDown. That was a stunt carefully put together by WWE's own dedicated coordinator, and both Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard were keen for Gowan to be replaced by a stunt double for the skit. The coordinator agreed, said he knew a one-legged stuntman and made a call to some friends.

The guy he hired for the role had two legs.

Prichard said on his podcast that he and McMahon were left stunned when the stunt expert told them they'd "make it look like he only has one". Come filming time, that didn't exactly work out; look closely at the above .gif and you'll notice Gowan's double has both lower limbs.
