Thankfully shedding the dreadful 'Kane' and 'Kole' gimmick (that saw the brothers being led to the ring in chains after being won by Col. Robert Parker in a card game), Harlem Heat developed into one of WCW's greatest ever tag-teams. In fact, Booker T and Stevie Ray became 10-time WCW Tag Champs, the most in history.

In Booker's mind, it wasn't until Sherri Martel was put with the group that Harlem Heat really started to tick. Talking to ESPN, Booker said he learned a great deal from Sherri, benefitted from the association and actually credits her for putting his wrestling career on the map full stop.

Booker still believes Martel's presence alongside Harlem Heat legitimised the team and helped turn them from goofy jokes into one of the best duos in the industry. That's hard to argue; Sherri had worked with the likes of Randy Savage, Ted DiBiase and Shawn Michaels by that point, so fans were conditioned to take her seriously.
