It must have been crappy for one Drew McIntyre to learn that WWE were releasing him from contract back in 2014. Never one to shy away from a challenge, the Scot picked himself up and had arranged a booking with old stomping ground ICW within one hour of being terminated. That's serious mental strength, but Drew also recognised the need to chill out too.

So, he played some Guitar Hero. For three days.

McIntyre told WWE Now that he "hid" at his dad's house in Ayr, Scotland for 72 hours with the blinds closed and played some rhythm video games with his old pals. The irony of McIntyre's last gimmick pre-release being a rock star should not be lost on anyone. Others may be wondering if he managed to master the Dragonforce epic 'Through The Fire & The Flames'.

The gaming binge was catharsis for Drew. He'd just lost his dream job, and he needed to decompress before meeting the challenge of reinvention head on. That'd come in time. For a few days at least, McIntyre required a little mental chill.
