NXT's cool surfer 'Bro' could kick someone's ass without breaking sweat, and he's probably likely to if you ask him to record a run of promos. Matt Riddle's old trainer (at the Monster School training camp) Danny Cage appeared on the WINCLY pod to talk about just how much his former pupil despised promo class.

According to Danny, Matt would get really "antsy" when it came time to do some interviews, because he struggled to put across his bad-assery verbally; anyone who has met Riddle will attest that he's a super-chilled dude who comes across as friendly, relaxed and happy to be there. That belies his true threat as a fighter.

Trying to be someone he wasn't left Riddle frustrated.

Cage knew that it was challenging for Riddle to come from the real-fight world of MMA (where actions often speak louder than words) into an industry that loves fabricated over-the-top personalities. As a result, he hated having to force his way through promos.
