6. WWE Offered Rhyno "More Than Double" To Stay

Rhyno gets fired
WWE

What a gig Rhyno had for the final few years of his WWE run. In between squash match losses with tag partner Heath Slater, the ex-ECW legend appeared in backstage skits eating crackers and cheese from a tube. Good work if you can get it.

When his contract expired in mid-July, Rhyno decided not to re-sign with the promotion and instead set sail for Impact Wrestling and another run on the independent scene. That was his choice, not WWE's. The company had been keen to keep him, and actually offered him double the amount he'd been making before to stick around.

Rhyno said thanks but no thanks.

He was much more interested in finding out how helpful he could be to the careers of young men and women looking to pave their way on the indys. If ever more proof was needed of WWE's ongoing desire to keep as many people under contract as they can, it's this. They were willing to pay twice the figure for Rhyno's services.
