10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Dec 18)

1. Xavier Wood's Mother Used Video Games To Get Him To Socialise

Today, Xavier Woods plays a loudmouth character on WWE television. As part of The New Day, Woods has been highly entertaining. Somewhat surprisingly, he was mostly shy as a young child, and didn't enjoy socialising with other kids all that much. This is something his mother wanted to encourage, likely because she wanted her son to have friends and be happy. Sports Illustrated recently featured an interview with Woods, one which included a fascinating piece of insight into his childhood. A keen fan of video games (Woods runs a WWE-authorised YouTube channel dedicated to the medium), Xavier was content to sit and lose himself in fantasy worlds on his favourite console of choice. His mother noticed that he was more vocal when playing games. From there, she decided to host video game competitions and sessions with other children in the area. The sole purpose of this was to enable her child to socialise and make friends with other like-minded kids. The idea worked, because Woods suddenly started coming out of his shell. Fast-forward to now, and he still uses gaming to connect with people. What other big wrestling facts did you learn this week? What do you make of the ones listed here?
