The Wrestling Observer newsletter reported this week that Batista is considering another WWE return, aged 49. Batista's last run in the company was far from a colossal success; booed for winning the 2014 Royal Rumble, he was then forced to turn heel shortly afterwards, playing second fiddle to the rise of Daniel Bryan.

It appears Batista wants to set things right. The Observer claim he'd want to work a full-time schedule, including house show dates, and the stint wouldn't be a part-time gig. It would be on the shorter side though, possibly for as little as six months. If Batista himself wants to make it happen, then it's hard to see WWE being uninterested.

WrestleMania season is about to flare up, and the return of a huge star from the past - who is also making strides in Hollywood - would surely appeal to them. One idea would be to stick Batista on SmackDown as a heel opposite a respected champion like AJ Styles. That kind of story writes itself.
