10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Dec 24)

3. Kurt Angle Thought Hulk Hogan And Eric Bischoff's Plan Was Good For TNA

Men who believed they could change TNA for good, Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan heavily hyped the company in 2009. Arriving towards the latter part of that year, the duo felt their skills would help TNA grow to compete with Vince McMahon's WWE. In 2010, they even positioned Impact Wrestling opposite Monday Night Raw, before being predictably butchered in the ratings. By the time the idea of TNA competing with the McMahon family had long since been abandoned, TNA started to noticeably struggle. Today, the promotion doesn't have the wealth of stars it used to, with men such as Hogan, Sting and even Samoa Joe departing. Amongst those who have stayed, Kurt Angle still maintains trying to compete with WWE was the right thing to do. Chatting with WrestleTalk TV, Angle gave his thoughts that Bischoff and Hogan were good for TNA overall. The former World Champion and Olympic Gold Medal winner trusted both men to make the promotion larger, even though it didn't pan out in the long run. Considering the financial problems which have plagued TNA since they left, it's fascinating that Angle still thinks this way about Hogan and Bischoff.
