6. Sami's Recent Injury Has Changed His Entire Perspective

In the very same interview with Chris Jericho, Sami Zayn revealed how rotator cuff surgery has altered his entire outlook on pro wrestling.

Before being benched for most of 2018, Zayn viewed himself as a workhorse who was addicted to working great matches. He could pride himself on always being there, and didn't think too much about the day-to-day grind WWE has. Now he's had some time to reflect, that has changed; to Sami, time off has come with one major realisation: he won't miss wrestling as much as he thought when he retires.

Perhaps that's too strong a statement. Zayn actually said that he'll "be OK" with leaving pro wrestling behind at some point. Also, it's made him more grateful for fans at airports and on the road who just want a few seconds of his time. For the first time in years, he realises how much of a d*ck he's been to some people.

This kind of openness is what makes the Jericho pod an essential listen. Seriously, go out of your way to hear it even if you've never been Zayn's biggest super-fan.
