On WWE's latest episode of 'The Day Of', Daniel Bryan's WWE Title defence against AJ Styles at TLC is examined. That's not the most fascinating part. Nope, that came when D-Bry talked about feeling "trapped" after his emotional in-ring comeback earlier in 2018. According to Bryan, he was sick of WWE staff telling him how to wrestle.

Daniel had a change in mind right before coming back, and he planned to work a different style to the one fans had grown accustomed to. WWE weren't having it; to them, it was vitally important that Bryan work the same babyface routines he had before, and that left the soon-to-be-Champ feeling a bit lost in his own thoughts.

At that point, Bryan wondered if coming back was even worth it.

The same old underdog face in distress thing wasn't cutting it for him anymore. Daniel wanted to do something fresh, and he was slightly annoyed that he wasn't given the freedom to do it. Thank God then for that heel turn.
