10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Dec 5)
2. The Kliq Convinced Triple H To Drop Killer Kowalski
In the 1990's, no group were more influential behind the scenes than The Kliq. Headed up by Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, the men even had a hand gesture they would regularly display in photographs. Also involved in the group was Sean '1-2-3 Kid/X-Pac' Waltman. He wasn't the only one who would become a member of the pack. At first, Hunter Hearst Helmsley was the ideal recruit, because he didn't drink or do drugs. He was the designated driver for the team. This was largely why he was recruited by The Kliq, but they also liked his dedication and willingness to listen and learn from them. Trained by Walter 'Killer' Kowalski, Triple H had a choice to make. Did he stay loyal to his trainer's ways, or embrace this hungry new Kliq? Speaking to WrestleTalk TV, Waltman says that he and other members of The Kliq were responsible for turning Hunter's head. At first, Triple H wanted the best of both worlds, but his new buddies convinced him to leave the old ways behind and follow their lead. Triple H still didn't do much drinking or drugs, but he apparently stopped listening to Kowalski's advice as much.
