"No man is ever truly good. No man is ever truly evil".

Those lyrics to Aleister Black's NXT entrance theme could be amended to include notes on the crippling anxiety issues that have plagued him since childhood. Yep, the strike-heavy workhorse who delights everyone with his matches told Lilian Garcia on her Chasing Glory show that he's long battled with his mind.

By his own admission, Black is "frightened a lot", even to this day and after all he's been through as a pro wrestler. It's remarkable to hear somebody who is doing so well for himself open up and admit to something that, just a few years ago, would've been taken as weakness or greeted with teasing in the wrestling community.

As a kid, Aleister always felt like he'd have to work twice as hard to succeed, largely because he was battling his own psyche as well as the world. That fear did give him some strength though, and it's why he's determined to rock the house whenever he enters the ring.
