10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Feb 22)

1. Rey Mysterio Almost Represented Donald Trump

Neither Bobby Lashley nor Umaga were the real stars of WrestleMania 23's 'Battle Of The Billionaires' between Vince McMahon and Donald Trump. Those men, along with special ref Steve Austin, were the focal point (It's also pretty weird to look back on thousands of people treating Trump like the biggest babyface going).

Somehow, things would've been weirder had Rey Mysterio been involved.

During an interview with Al Jazeera, Rey admitted that he was in the running to work the match. Incredibly, he would have been the Donald's representative, and he finds it hilarious to imagine what the reaction would be today had it happened. A Mexican-American star going to bat for the US President doesn't exactly sit snugly with Trump's policies.

Mysterio ended up being benched by an injured knee and underwent surgery to repair it. That kept him out of action during 'Mania season, and it's one of the reasons why he wasn't Trump's man.
