Bret Hart wasn't the only one worried about his future after the events of the "Montreal Screwjob". In the crowd, a young Edge and Christian were panicking that their WWF futures would be in jeopardy. After all, Hart had played a major role in getting both signed in the first place, and without him there to back them up there were no guarantees.

Concerned by what was going on, the future tag-team legends even had a discussion with others in WWF developmental that maybe the company would go down the tubes. Seriously, Edge and Christian were fearful that Vince McMahon might just call the whole thing off.

If that sounds terribly dramatic now, keep in mind that E&C were impressionable youngsters at the time and viewed Bret as the man.

Steve Austin understood their concerns on his podcast. Despite being a more established star in 1997, Austin was anxious about what had happened too. He didn't quite believe the WWF would suddenly stop, but he did know things would be different going forward.
