10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Feb 6)
2. Billy Gunn Thought Eric Bischoff Should Have Embraced DX Invasion
On April 27, 1998, World Championship Wrestling were in the midst of presenting a live episode of Monday Nitro from the Norfolk Scope in Norfolk, Virginia. On the show were future WWE talents like Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero and Booker T. That was on the inside of the building. On the outside, D-Generation X were causing some mild havoc with their antics. Vince McMahon had instructed Triple H, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, X-Pac and Chyna to 'invade' the WCW show in the hopes of causing some controversial television. That certainly proved to be the case, the segment is still talked about today, although the DX crew would never actually come close to getting into the arena. Whilst speaking with Sports Illustrated, Billy Gunn says he thinks Eric Bischoff should have let it happen. In his mind, having D-Generation X on Nitro would have reflected better on WCW than the WWF, because then Bischoff would have been able to reap the ratings reward. There's no way the WCW boss would have viewed things that way in 1998.
