July 11, 1994 will forever be one of the most memorable dates in the mind of Sean Waltman. On that day, his match with Bret Hart aired on Monday Night Raw. Opening the broadcast, The 1-2-3 Kid fought valiantly to try and wrestle the WWF Heavyweight Title from his Canadian counterpart.

The fact both men were babyfaces only added to the intrigue, fans were drawn into the action because Hart allowed Kid to look strong during the bout. At ringside, Randy Savage and Jim Ross appeared genuinely invested in what they were seeing. Undoubtedly, this was one of the best matches of the period in the WWF.

According to Waltman, Bret was determined to make it special. Because of that dedication, he actually postponed the match several times. Telling WWF officials that neither wrestler was ready to go out and work, Hart wanted as much time as possible to plan things.

Waltman told this story to Wrestling Inc, saying that only a star the level of Hart had such clout back then. He simply kept his mouth shut and worked the match when Bret felt it was time.
