At WCW's Halloween Havoc 1996 pay-per-view, Harlem Heat dropped the WCW Tag-Team Titles to The Outsiders. Of course, that latter unit was made up of Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Both had recently joined from the WWF earlier in the year, going on to form the New World Order with Hulk Hogan come Bash At The Beach.

Talking via the Bischoff On Wrestling podcast, Booker T said he wasn't unhappy at all to drop the belts. His brother felt exactly the same, neither man looked at pro wrestling like a personal venture. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Harlem Heat viewed wrestling as a job and little else.

Lifting the lid on that time, Booker then told Bischoff that he didn't think the nWo would be around too long anyway. Speaking backstage, Booker told Stevie Ray that they would likely get the belts back when the whole experiment blew over by the turn of the new year.

It's hilarious to think of now, but Booker T and Stevie Ray didn't think the nWo had much longevity in WCW.
