Lilian Garcia's 'Making Their Way To The Ring' podcast is one that may not appear exciting at first glance. Some wrestling fans may skip it entirely, meaning they would have missed a cool story told by Mickie James on the show recently.

Trying to break into WWE in 2005, James started writing storylines she could pitch to top brass. As she was already friends with Amy 'Lita' Dumas', Mickie called her pal and pitched a stalker angle that would see her become infatuated with Lita. James actually asked an apathetic Lita if she would be alright with the idea.

When the story was pitched to WWE, the writers chose to tweak it a little. Lita was a heel at the time, meaning James wouldn't have garnered much heat for her freakishly obsessive ways. Trish Stratus was deemed ideal for the role due to her work as a top female babyface.

It's startling to know this wasn't Mickie's original plan. Even though she had hand-picked Lita for the sympathetic role, James realised that WWE were at least using her idea.
