Mick Foley will never forget winning the WWF Title for the first time. Due to the way Raw was taped at the time, Mankind's big win over The Rock didn't air until the week after it actually happened (he won the belt on December 19, 1998 and the show aired on January 4, 1999). Even so, Foley lapped up the chance to be the top champ.

In true Foley form, he also believes others should get credit for their performances that evening. In particular, Mick thinks Michael Cole's commentary is so often overlooked when fans cast minds back to his title-winning moment. It's not often Coles contributions to the Attitude Era are cited as a highlight these days.

On Lilian Garcia's Chasing Glory podcast, Mick said he thinks it's unfortunate Cole's announcing back then has been "underrated historically". He pointed out that the commentator is still proud of his work that evening and more people need to appreciate why.
