4. A WCW Ref Carried Coins For JYD's Candy Habit

Toward the end of his career, the once-great Junkyard Dog let himself go.

Jim Ross said on his 'Grilling JR' show that old NWA/WCW referee 'Pee-Wee' Randy Anderson had more than one job when travelling the roads as JYD's valet. Bill Watts had asked Anderson to take care of the babyface hero, and handed him a big bag of spare change. The coins were for vending machines when JYD got hungry.

Any time Junkyard Dog smoked some weed and got the munchies, he'd ask Randy to go down the hallway and pick him up some candy from the machines. Sometimes it was a Snickers bar, other times it was a Milky Way; JYD just loved him some chocolate, and it was an easy way to keep the big guy happy on the road.

Obviously, this was unhealthy and did nothing for Dog's physical appearance. His thick, well-muscled frame gave way as he piled on the pounds. It's amazing to think that Anderson's job included playing a stand-by candy vendor.
