By 1996, Diamond Dallas Page was beginning to show some real promise that hey, he might just become a valuable in-ring talent to WCW. His star-making feud with Randy Savage was around a year away though, and Page was still trying to find his feet in the summer of '96.

To this day, he thanks Eddie Guerrero for helping his career gain some momentum.

On 'Talk Is Jericho', DDP told how Eddie's mid-match kindness changed everything. The planned finish was a small package win for Guerrero, but the legend subtly whispered to his friend to hit the Diamond Cutter. Page thought he was hearing things at first, then didn't think Eddie was serious. He was 100% serious, and he wanted his pal to win.

Page has always waxed lyrical about the Savage feud and called it his most important ever. That can't be denied, but he's smart enough to know that Guerrero's on-the-fly unselfishness gave him credibility at a time when he had little.
