By her own admission, Sasha Banks has come a long way from the shy girl growing up in Boston she once was. Talking to Australia's The Project, Banks revealed that she was timid enough during her early years that even rudimentary wrestling bumps seemed terrifying when she started training.

Scared of getting hurt, she wanted to come up with a finishing move that would avoid bumping altogether, and that led her to create the Bank Statement submission hold. Although later adapted to include a simple back bump from Sasha, the move was specially designed to give her an out from bumping at first.

Building her confidence by bumping onto some mattresses she'd lay down in the training ring, Banks became comfortable enough with with movement that she added the back-cracker to the finishing move. Imagine how different things would be had Sasha not overcome her initial fear of bumps!
