Much like his real-life friend Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn isn't the kind of performer that anyone would consider a stereotypical 'WWE Superstar'. In fact, Zayn himself has pointed out his average build, lack of bulging muscles and quirky personality before in interviews, showing real self-awareness without also completely shooting himself down.

Talking to FOX 22 this week, Sami pulled back the curtain a little on his own career, analysing why and how he made it to WWE despite not fitting any perceived template. What followed was a fascinating answer to those questioning his success, with Zayn saying he doesn't believe there's any established formula that guarantees gaining attention from WWE.

Going further, the artist formerly known as El Generico in ROH, PWG and across the globe said that there's no exact science to determine what level of success a wrestler will have. He's always felt that way, which has probably helped him throughout his lengthy career.

Never the biggest, Sami Zayn has nonetheless made a connection with fans that's noteworthy. It seems he just can't explain how it happened!
