10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (July 27)

3. Bruce Prichard's Hilarious Vince McMahon Sleep Story

Bruce Prichard knows Vince McMahon's habits better than most. He worked so closely with the WWE patriarch for so many years that McMahon's routine began rubbing off on him. That's why, when TNA head Dixie Carter apologised for calling him at 3.30pm on a Friday afternoon, Prichard could only laugh.

McMahon used to ring him at 6am every morning, and he'd tell him to sleep "when you're dead".

Wrestling fans have become aware of Vince's machine-like work ethic through interviews with ex-creative team members and other workers. Prichard has the best stories, and one he told Sam Roberts for the geeky journo's podcast recently stands out.

Following a night on the tiles, Bruce was dragging his heels and Vince fancied getting a little shut eye. Unlike normal people in such a situation, he didn't fancy finding a bed and curling up until the booze left his system. No, McMahon wanted a power nap, and he randomly wanted it on one of the WWF ring crew buses.

A mere 30 minutes later, when Prichard was still dozing off, Vince shot to his feet, shouted about how good he felt and said the extra minute or so he slept would pay off later. This is more proof that Vince McMahon is a cyborg.
