10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (July 3)

10. Ethan Carter III Says Winning TNA Title Was "Out Of Body Experience"

Even though the match was taped on June 25th, it was only this past week that fans were given the chance to see Ethan Carter III win the TNA World Title. Defeating Kurt Angle in a hotly-contested match, the man who once failed as Derrick Bateman in the WWE system has come a long way since his appearances on the old NXT show. Once an FCW Tag-Team Champion in WWE's old developmental system, EC3 has slowly-but-surely transformed himself into one of the better characters currently on TNA television. Where the company are at right now seems unclear, but one thing that has been obvious is the rise of Carter into a truly entertaining performer - the man's rivalry with Rockstar Spud was one thing, but it was clear he was destined for bigger and better things. Everyone from Jim Ross to Kurt Angle himself has been singing EC3's praises, with Ross even remarking that WWE may feel aggrieved to have missed out on an emerging talent. In truth, Bateman didn't really seem to have what the promotion wanted during his time there, but he has grown in TNA. Speaking of his World Title win, Carter said it felt like an "out of body experience", and also revealed that Angle gave him some words of advice after the match that he will ever forget.
