9. WWE Run Broke Raven's Heart

Completely reinventing himself as a wrestling personality, the Raven character was a tremendous example of both Scott Levy's creativity and Paul Heyman's willingness to nurture that in people. Born in the original ECW, Raven was a dark, twisted soul that caught the eyes of those in charge at WCW and eventually the then-WWF.

Rejoining a company he had worked for in the early-1990's, Raven returned to the WWF in 2000. The move wasn't all he hoped it would be however, a potential feud with The Undertaker was nixed and the man found himself very much on the fringes. That's precisely why he became such a stalwart in the Hardcore Title division.

Speaking to The Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast, Raven claimed his run with the WWF/WWE broke his heart, and is directly responsible for why he finds it difficult to watch the promotion's programming today.

Clearly burned out and frustrated, he turned away from the top product and became depressed by the lack of upward mobility and energy coming back at him from those calling the shots.
