10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (June 21)

3. What Vince McMahon Told JR & Mick Foley

Mankind Mick Foley Jim Ross

If you've never watched the sit-down interview Jim Ross conducted with Mick Foley's Mankind character on Raw in 1997, stop what you're doing and fire up the WWE Network immediately. It happened on the 9 June '97 edition, and it really is must-see stuff. Vince McMahon would tell you the same, probably.

On Bruce Prichard's 'Something To Wrestle With' show, the WWE lifer remembered Vince's reaction to the segment. McMahon wasn't producing it, Bruce was, and Vince only popped his head around the door for a few minutes to see what happening. When they were done, he felt the need to share his thoughts.

"That's good f*cking sh*t", he said.

Bruce, JR and Foley were all pleased with the gaffer's assessment of their work. McMahon particularly loved how they were tapping into Mick's childhood but keeping it true to the tortured Mankind gimmick. Again, go and watch this interview if you haven't before. You'll agree with Vinnie Mac's praise.
