Josh Mathews told WrestleList that he learned a lot during lengthy car rides with both Michael Cole and Tazz. Similarly, the former WWE announcer soaked up knowledge from the likes of Jim Ross and Paul Heyman, but it was Vince McMahon who left the biggest imprint on his career.

Shaping Mathews into the kind of commentator he personally likes, McMahon constantly offered advice through Josh's headset, telling him not to over sell certain aspects of programming or reminding him not to shout at the viewer too much. To this day, Mathews still hears McMahon's voice in his head when he sits down for episodes of TNA TV.

That's pretty remarkable considering Josh hasn't been part of WWE since 2014. Even after 3 years out of the WWE loop, Mathews can't help but feel like Vince is still listening to his announcing on Impact Wrestling. We wonder if Mick Foley feels the same!
