8. JTG Didn't Know He Was Athletic Until He Started Wrestling Training

Coming from a drama background, JTG was also a childhood fan of pro wrestling. Interestingly, he didn't pay much attention to anything other than the WWF, at least not until the nWo became part of the furniture in WCW. Only then did the impressionable youngster start paying attention to the competition.

Signed to a contract with Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2006, it didn't take him long to progress to the main WWE roster. Alongside his regular partner, Shad Gaspard, JTG experienced some success as Cryme Tyme. Whilst talking to Jim Ross for his podcast, JTG explained that he was however worried about the actual physical side of pro wrestling.

Coming from the acting world, he didn't actually know if he had it in him to be athletic inside the ring. It wasn't until he actually got to OVW that he found out he was naturally athletic, much to his surprise.

It's intriguing to learn that WWE signed someone to a developmental deal without first checking out if they had the ability to keep pace between the ropes.
