10. Tommy Rogers Passes Away
To a lot of casual wrestling fans, Tommy Rogers might not be all that well known. However, to those with a more hardcore, in-depth knowledge of the industry, Rogers will be remembered as one half of The Fantastics tag-team. Teaming with his partner, Bobby Fulton, Rogers helped create some magic in World Class Championship Wrestling, as The Fantastics regularly tangled with The Midnight Express in marquee matches. One of his only WWF/WWE appearances would come against Fulton in 1997, as the pair collided in a match during the whole Light-Heavyweight experiment that Vince McMahon had going on during that time. Aside from WCCW, Jim Crockett Promotions and that brief flurry in the WWF, Rogers also worked in ECW throughout 1997-1998, even teaming with Jerry Lynn on a number of occasions. Sadly, this past week Rogers was found dead by his flat mate in Honolulu, Hawaii. It's important to note that Rogers (real name, Thomas Couch) had been in trouble with the law for fighting with police officers, and was fearing a lengthy prison sentence once the verdict came in. Nonetheless, he deserves to be celebrated for his contributions to the professional wrestling industry.
