For years, 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan played the exact same character regardless of which wrestling company he worked for. As far back as the mid-1980's, Duggan was using the 'Hacksaw' moniker. This is something he continued to do upon signing for the WWF in 1987.

It was under the McMahon umbrella that Duggan found his greatest success. One of the most-beloved babyfaces on the entire roster, the guy was infamous for carrying a 2x4 plank of wood, as well as his 'U.S.A' and 'Hoooooo!' chants.

Similarly, his wild hair and bearded face became well known. He was instantly recognisable.

Years later, Duggan would end up working for WCW. Towards the end of the promotion's shelf life, Vince Russo asked Jim if he'd be interested in turning heel on the United States and joining Team Canada. For the role, Duggan had to cut his hair and shave off his trademark beard.

Talking to Jim Ross for his Ross Report podcast, 'Hacksaw' recalled turning up for a WCW Nitro taping and not being recognised by many of the wrestlers. Even some friends he had known for over twenty years didn't recognise him at first without his famous look.

Thankfully for him and his career, it wouldn't be a look that would last.
