Bruce Prichard once shared on his podcast that Dusty Rhodes often called himself the "second most recognisable athlete in the world today, second only to Muhammad Ali". Rhodes was a true character, and now Jim Cornette has chimed in on his own podcast to show just how big Dusty's dreams really were.

According to Cornette, Rhodes told him on Jim Crockett's private jet in the late-80s that it was only a matter of time before WCW stars were doing major motion pictures and TV sitcoms. Dusty's reasoning was that they were already big stars and selling out arenas across the country, so why wouldn't television executives be interested?

Cornette found it hard to stifle his laughter.

This is another chapter in the never-ending banter about Dusty's colourful personality. To Cornette, it summed up Dusty's spirit. He genuinely believed that WCW performers, who (remember) weren't even as close to being mainstream stars as their peers in the WWF, were on the cusp of Hollywood success.
