10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (March 20)

7. WWE DVD Releases Still Selling Well

The WWE Network has changed things somewhat in WWE - no longer do DVD releases sell in vast numbers, certainly for Pay-Per-View events. For less than the cost of one of these discs, wrestling fans can access every WWE Pay-Per-View ever, along with shows from the likes of WCW, ECW and beyond. It'd make perfect sense that DVD sales have slowed since the Network caught on, but there are still millions of wrestling fans who haven't signed up for the subscription only service, yet still keep up to speed with what's going on in the company. For that reason, WWE still release DVD sets, some of which have been selling pretty well over the past number of months. The leader of the pack is, of course, WrestleMania XXX, which has shipped over 159,000 copies. Previous 'Mania releases have sold more than that, but it's still a healthy number, considering a lot of people will simply watch the event on the WWE Network. Also right up there, The Ultimate Warrior's collection has sold 94,000, whilst Sting's DVD has shifted 74,000.
