Austin Aries has spoken before in interviews about his love of bananas. It's something WWE (oddly) found curious, and they asked Aries if he planned to make it part of his act. He wasn't scheming; he was just eating a post-match snack before filming promos.

That's not the end of Austin's banana-related hijinks.

On A Music Blog, Yea?, Aries claimed that he smuggled the fruit into Peru and nearly landed himself in hot water with local authorities. Despite being aware that travelling internationally with any fruit, nuts or seeds was against the rules, he knowingly carried a banana in his travel bag. What a heel.

Aries was busted when a sniffer dog caught on to his antics, forcing him to explain that it had been an accident and that he forgot the banana was in there. To Austin's horror, security were seriously annoyed that he had tried to smuggle the contraband. He was almost arrested.
