Up until now, we figured that Braun Strowman got his ring name because of his sheer size. Y'know, "brawn", meaning supreme physical strength (that often makes up for lower intelligence). Although that logic makes sense, it's not true, at least not according to Strowman himself.

When guesting on Milwaukee's TMJ4 before Raw this past Monday, Braun revealed that the first part of his ring name is inspired by one of the city's sports teams.

After unsuccessfully pitching a few name ideas to WWE, Strowman was left scrambling for one they'd accept. That's when SportsCenter came on one of the TVs at the Performance Center, and a news report started talking about Milwaukee Brewers Left Fielder Ryan Braun. Suddenly, Strowman had a brain wave; he'd found the perfect name.

WWE liked it, and they were the ones who added the Strowman surname to Braun. It'd be awesome to find out what some of the other names Braun pitched were.
