10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (May 29)

2. WWE Want AJ Styles?

Even though he's been linked with a move to the company for years, it has always seemed like the thought of AJ Styles plying his trade in WWE was nothing more than a pipe dream from fans. In reality, WWE did at one time offer Styles a developmental deal, but it didn't really appeal to the wrestler, who was likely making far more on the independent scene, including his work during the early years of TNA's existence. Since departing TNA in 2014, Styles has returned to ROH and also worked wonders in New Japan Pro Wrestling. It seems this has caught the eye of those watching from WWE headquarters, and the company have really considered reaching out to AJ recently. Word on the rumour mill is that WWE are interesting in running 3 different brands next year, something AJ would be a part of. There's a good chance that, much like Samoa Joe, the high-flying performer could be used to shore up the NXT events, giving some star power to the brand as WWE attempt to move some of the roster up the way on the main shows.
