At Payback, Natalya faced Charlotte in a rematch for the WWE Women's Title. The bout felt disappointing next to the excellent Triple Threat at WrestleMania, and wasn't anywhere near as good as the clash between both women at Roadblock in February.

Unfortunately, it's the finish that most people will remember, and it hasn't proved a popular one.

Armed with Bret Hart and Ric Flair at ringside, WWE's creative team elected to shoot a reprise of the infamous 'Montreal Screwjob' incident involving Bret from 1997. As Charlotte had Natalya locked in the Sharpshooter, referee Charles Robinson quickly called for the bell.

Natalya clearly hadn't submitted, and the finish fell flat with most fans in attendance. PW Insider reported after the pay-per-view that the bout's conclusion had only been drafted up the Friday before the show.

WWE officials weren't sure what to do with the end of the title match, so they decided to use the presence of Hart to 'screw' Natalya out of the belt.

It now makes complete sense why the finish felt rushed, it was almost a last-minute addition to the show.
