10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Nov 13)

2. Xavier Woods Was Inspired By WCW's 3 Count

Back in the year 2000, Shannon Moore, Evan Karagias and Shane Helms were all wrestlers officials had high hopes for. It was generally considered that the trio could play a huge part in the future of the Cruiserweight Title scene in the company. Working together as '3 Count', the team were portrayed as a boy band in the mould of NSYNC or The Backstreet Boys. Irritating everyone with their phony musical success, the faction were under-rated. They couldn't really sing or dance to save themselves, but that was really the point. They were entertaining, at least. Cottoning on to what 3 Count were trying to do, Xavier Woods was a big fan. Somewhat surprisingly, Woods has used influence from the group for his own stable in WWE. As part of The New Day, Woods is part of one of the most consistently entertaining acts WWE currently have under contract. Even though they are heels, Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E are very much over with fans, who lap up their silly antics. During a WWE YouTube video talking about 3 Count, Woods says he loved the gimmick and it influenced what he is doing now.
