10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Nov 13)
3. Hulk Hogan Thought Kevin Owens Looked Like An 'Ice Cream Salesman'
Kevin Owens is tearing it up as WWE Intercontinental Champion right now. The man may not have the muscle mass typically attributed to a 'WWE Superstar', but he's gaining some serious traction in the promotion. Fan response is critical to his success, but arguably not as vital as how he is perceived by management. Thankfully, according to Hulk Hogan, people backstage love the guy. Hulk claims he is one of the first to really acknowledge the talent that Owens has. Watching one of his matches in NXT, Hogan told those around him that KO's old-school heel routine was a winner, and he hadn't seen anybody work it so well in years. That directly flies in the face of Hogan's apparent first impression of Owens, which wasn't exactly complimentary to his image. When Kevin Owens first walked through the doors, Hulk felt he looked like an "ice-cream salesman". Obviously, this is in reference to the stark contrast between main event stars from Hogan's generation and now. Back in Hulk's day, bodies were a serious must, and Owens doesn't necessarily have that. Thankfully, Hulk was able to look past that and recognise the man's talent.
