7. Ric Flair Told WWE They Should Hire Him For Promo Work
It even seems like an understatement to say that 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair is one of the greatest talkers the pro wrestling business has ever witnessed. Supremely comfortable on the microphone, Flair has delivered some of the absolute best promos in industry history. Impassioned and brash in his delivery, there has always been true emotion behind the man's words. In many respects, he's the perfect man to teach the stars of tomorrow how to talk. That particular role was one Flair was interested in taking up, and he has apparently told WWE on a regular basis that they should hire him for the job. Currently, William Regal and former independent worker Ryan Katz are the ones who help with promos at the WWE Performance Center. Speaking on a recent edition of his podcast, Ric Flair said that he should be the one doing it. Feeling himself to be ideal, the former multi-time World Champion has also noted that he'd have trouble working with scripts. Of course, that's something WWE now do, handing talent scripts they have to learn before delivering promos. That wasn't the case in Ric's day, but he has still put himself forward for the gig.
