10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Nov 20)

4. Ricardo Rodriguez Didn't Know Alberto Del Rio Was Returning To WWE

When Alberto Del Rio made his comeback to WWE at the Hell In A Cell Pay-Per-View, there were a lot of surprised faces. The company had managed to keep the news pretty darn quiet, which is difficult to do in today's pro wrestling world. News travels extremely quickly, but few fans were aware that the Mexican was going to return and defeat John Cena for the WWE United States Title in the opening match. Shockingly, it wasn't only fans who weren't made aware. One of Del Rio's best friends away from the ring, Ricardo Rodriguez also didn't know what was about to happen, as he revealed during an interview with WrestleZone radio. Currently working in India, the former 'Personal Ring Announcer' to Del Rio was stunned to see his pal make a return. The pair had conversed numerous times about it being a possibility, but Del Rio didn't tell his friend that he'd signed. A lot of fans have expressed regret that Zeb Colter is acting as the Mexican's manager, not Rodriguez. He and Alberto hared a brilliant on-screen partnership for years, but WWE seemingly weren't interested in resuming that duo. For Rodriguez, who wasn't even asked about returning, it was a complete surprise when Del Rio hit the ring and snagged the US Title.
